E-Commerce Photographer & Videographer

Report to Graphic Design Manager | Based in Northumberland

This role is a key part of the photography production process, working collaboratively within the Creative Team to deliver high-quality e-commerce imagery and video, from our in-house studio.

You will be responsible for shooting products for digital channels, owning studio setup, lighting, equipment, the management of product samples, and day-to-day standards to ensure all photography consistently meets brand guidelines, while keeping the studio organised, prepared, tidy and shoot-ready.

The role includes shooting seasonal campaign assets on location and involvement in the planning and preparation for those shoots, plus regularly working on social campaign assets. Strong skills in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, video editing and file management are essential, alongside a sharp eye for detail, excellent product presentation, and maintaining high visual standards across all imagery.

This is a full-time, studio-based role with occasional location shoots and requires a balance of commercial clarity and lifestyle-led imagery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and control the in-house Photography & Video production process.
  • Collaborate with the Creative, Marketing, Commercial and Product teams to discuss what is required for each product.
  • Quality controlling colour accuracy and ensuring product colour is accurate and consistent across ranges, and that product presentation is optimal.
  • To work closely with the Re-toucher, to ensure all photography is to a high standard before being handed over.
  • Working with models to get the best from them in every shoot.
  • Working through a high volume of images whilst maintaining quality and pushing productivity.
  • Shooting and editing short videos for e-commerce listings, advertising and social media.
  • Produce high-quality images of a consistently exceptional standard in accordance with internal guidelines.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of all products and how they need to be photographed to show them to their best.
  • Meeting deadlines whilst keeping the studio organised and tidy.
  • Use an extensive range of technical equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and specialist software.
  • To demonstrate and contribute to the photography direction of shoots on location and in studio.
  • Accurately and confidently naming, cataloguing and filing images to be easily accessed by other departments.
  • Keeping up to date with competitor & industry trends, developments, and new techniques.
  • Liaise with the Operations team to co-ordinate product availability for Photography.
  • To contribute to the development of icon photography guidelines and ensure all photography consistently meets the standards.
  • Understand how imagery and video support e-commerce performance and conversion.

Requirements:

Essential

  • Professional e-commerce photography experience.
  • 2-year minimum experience in a commercial studio environment.
  • Previous experience of following photography guidelines
  • Proven experience with digital cameras and lighting.
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop.
  • Strong portfolio of relevant e-commerce photography and video is required.

  • A clear eye for product photography and video.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to take and action feedback.
  • Ability to manage multiple files, named and filed clearly, on a shared server.
  • Excellent time management.
  • This role does not include direct line management responsibilities.
